Hi, I’m Frank!

Your local councillor, and campaigner.

I was born in 1998 to a local Hairdresser and Derbyshire Detective. I have an older half brother, whilst I am the big brother of Mixed Martial Arts fighter Teddy Stringer. As you can imagine, I didn't win many of our teenage battles! My grandfather, John Adlington, and his father (also John!) were integral to the development of Wingerworth and built many of our homes.

I started my education at Deer Park Primary and completed my A-Levels at Tupton Hall School, which I have visitied my times over the years since to encourage the next generation to engage with politics. I took some time to work and travel before starting my degree in Politics and International Relations at Nottingham Trent University. Whilst studying here, I renovated a 37ft narrowboat (1986, Lister) which became my home.

In 2018, feeling uninspired and let down, I ripped up my Labour Party membership and joined the Green Party. I never looked back. The following year, I stood in my first local election and finished second place. Before the end of 2019, I had represented you, the residents of North East Derbyshire, in the December General Election. I have continued to fight for the people of North East Derbyshire since.

I became a Parish Councillor in Wingerworth in the winter of 2020 and have used my role to push for environmental iniatives that empower local people. I developed the Council's firs-ever Climate Change Policy, declared a Climate Emergency, planted over 500 trees and have fought hard to protect you from inappropriate development.

You have since elected me as your District Councillor and given me a stronger voice to speak up for our community. Further to my role on the Council, I also act as the Vice Chair of the first ever Environmental Scrutiny Committee (set up in recognition of you electing me as North East Derbyshire's first ever Green councillor). In this role I hold the Council Leadership (Labour) to account and push their levels of ambition.

Ultimately, I work for you. I don't get paid for this, but that doesnt matter. I am still just as passionate about securing change.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Please do get in touch :-)

Thank you.
