Frank: My work for the community is voluntary

Frank has been working hard for Wingerworth since 2019, but what many people do not realise is that all of his work is voluntary. The Green Party do not pay Frank a wage and during his years on Wingerworth Parish Council he was never given a single penny. Now, as your District Councillor, Frank recieves a basic allowance of around £620 per month. Frank is keen to be completely transparent with the community, and has made all of his payslips available. You can view them at: www.linktr.ee/frankadlington

Whilst a student, Frank was able to support himself in part using his student loan but this highlights the problem with politics. Working people, particularly young people, are prevented from getting involved with their local communities as they simply cannot afford to. As he refuses to let the system push him out of politics, Frank has made many sacrifices to this end. Living at home, working part time and selling his car are just some of them.

This is Frank’s choice and he does not seek charity, instead Frank encourages you to support his community work. A batch of newsletters, like this one, cost around £115, whilst candidacy in a national election requires £500. The Green Party, unlike the other political parties, refuses to accept donations from private interests. Whilst this leaves us free to speak up for you, it means we do not have as much financial or media power. At times, when donations have dried up, Frank has had to front these costs himself. If you can help then please do donate. Every single penny you give will be spent on election resources.
