Frank gets stuck in Planting Trees and Flowers in our village

Frank joined volunteers and other local councillors planting daffodil bulbs on Deer Park. Whilst Frank was unable to attend the entire day, other volunteers planted bulbs on the parks in the Adlington and Chartwell estates. 3,000 bulbs were planted in total on the day, with 1,000 bulbs attributed to each park.

The day was part of Wingerworth Parish Council’s (WPC) wider attempt, led by Frank, to improve both the village’s appearance and local environment. The bulb planting day was followed by the planting of 270 trees in November across the three parks in the village - Chartwell, Adlington, Deer Park - and comes after the expansion of the wildflower area in Chartwell. Frank developed the plan and led the way in sourcing the trees from the Woodland Trust.

Frank said, "I am really keen to get the community involved in these projects. This is our village and its important that we shape it together. It was fantastic to see so many volunteers at our planting days."

The Council is currently considering planting even more wildflowers and bulbs. Frank has also secured a further 250 trees which will be planted next year.
