Vaccinated badgers are at risk of being killed
Recent reports suggesting that Derbyshire’s badgers will be included in a new cull are alarming. The Derbyshire Green Party fully supports the ongoing campaign by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to stop a new badger cull from happening. The Wildlife Trust’s studies suggest that any cull would not be justified, as there is no evidence of widespread TB amongst the badger population within Derbyshire. It would potentially result in vaccinated badgers being shot, causing disruption to the largest and most established Government funded vaccination programme in the country.
